Graduate School Entrance Exams

Starting with the entrance exams for 2008 admission (conducted in 2007), the Department of Synthetic Chemistry and Biological Chemistry is holding graduate school (Master's program) entrance exams as part of the Advanced Chemistry Departments Group (together with the Department of Energy and Hydrocarbon Chemistry and the Department of Molecular Engineering).
The subjects of the entrance exams are English, Core Subjects (a total of six compulsory questions: two on physical chemistry, two on organic chemistry, one on inorganic chemistry, and one on analytical chemistry), and Specialist Subjects (a selection of three questions out of a total of seven from the following fields: physical chemistry, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, polymer chemistry, and chemical engineering).
After entry to the Master's program, students choose between the continuous program (stage 1 and 2 of the doctoral program) and the standalone Master's program. For further details please refer to the application guidelines. In addition, please refer to the following for information on entrance exams for the Graduate School of Engineering and the Advanced Chemistry Departments Group.

The advanced chemistry departments group did not use the TOEFL, TOEIC, or IELTS score in the Master's Course entrance examination for 2021 (held in August 2020). While the final decision for the same examination for 2022 (to be held in August 2021) will be announced in the official application guideline, we currently consider treating it in the same way as the previous year. The final decision will be also announced on this home page in the middle of January.
